Sue's Journey
My wellness journey began before this program at work started. To give you a little background on me of why I started my new life’s journey. I am a diabetic and my sugar was out of control.
I knew I had to start taking better care of myself. So I decided to make a doctor’s appointment and get back on my medication and start exercising. I talked to my doctor and she helped me figure things out. I joined plant fitness. I started with walking on the treadmill and a little light weight lifting.
Now I do have my sugar levels under control which is the main thing for me. I have not lost much weight and I am working on that.
Winning the gift card was nice. I really did not think about that. So when I won, I was surprised. Thank you everyone for the encouragement. Listening to everyone’s words of encouragement is inspiring.
I tell you to keep on your journey. Set a goal and you can reach it. I am going to reach my goal.

Nurse Appreciation Week
During the week of May 6th – May 12th we celebrate Nurse Appreciation Week. We are thankful for the nurses who have worked endlessly and it’s even more important than ever to thank every nurse this Nurse Appreciation Week. At Developmental Services, we know our nurses have worked more hours and given more of themselves to the people they support during the pandemic. Thank you for all the personal sacrifices you are making to help others during this challenging time.
This year, we have decided to break out Nurse Appreciation Week from DSP Appreciation Week. We will be sending out more details to nurses through PHS.
DSP day will be later this summer and we will send more information out to DSPs as it becomes available.
