Crockpot Vegetarian BBQ
Ingredients
- 3 or 4 cups of raw or canned jackfruit
- 4 oz. BBQ sauce
- Hamburger buns (optional)
- Green onions (optional)
This is a super-simple recipe for a decent vegetarian version of pulled-pork BBQ. First, cook your jackfruit on low in the crockpot 5 hours, or until It’s easy to pull apart with a fork. Drain off the excess liquid and add the fruit back to the crockpot. You can add chopped green onions to give it an extra kick, if you wish. Add the BBQ sauce and mix it to coat the fruit in the sauce. Let it cook in the crockpot for another hour. Serve on hamburger buns like you would a pulled-pork sandwich, or eat it by itself. Enjoy!.
